Unhook the security box under the dash. It should be connected to a square black box.

My Nissan Pathfinder was doing the same thing. I had to replace the battery in the key fob. Batteries are only about $5 for it.

I had locked my keys inside the my 97 pathfinder so I had used a coat hanger to hit the doors unlock switch and in the process the alarm activated and couldn't start my car. ANSWER: lock the doors with electric switch then manually unlock the door using key hole from outside and car should start up again afterwards.
