Ground wire for what? As far as battery ground, in the past, on different year--make--model. I run the ground wire to alternator bracket, On that vehicle, the alternator mounting bracket was a big piece of metal, I just drilled a hole in it and mounted the battery neg, there. Everything worked ok afterwards. Of course, I can't see your vehicle from here. You would have to route cable away from belt--pulleys--exhaust. Then make sure everything works. Just my opinion.
