97 Nissan Altima

I had just passed the car and was getting
back over into my lane heard a pop and the
car died I coasted to the side of the road
tried to start it and it won't turn over now it
just does the regular like it's trying to start
but no firing or anything

check and make sure serpentine belt is still there? What about timing belt/chain? Make sure battery has a full charge. Have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the plugs. If spark everywhere use a gage and check proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse. Any applicable trouble codes? I can only help with testing.
