Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My wife has a Nissan Maxima GLE. When she is driving or stationary the
car seems to sputter as if it is misfiring.  The spark plugs had been
changed last year. I have recently replaced the fuel pump.  The manager
at O'Reilys said to replace the fuel regulator next, if the problem persists.
Well the problem persists. I feel it is the fuel pump.   The car has 145,000
miles. I do not want to buy parts if I don't need to. Please Help before it
snows.?

Sound,s like a weak fuel pump, but first changer the fuel filter and add some fuel additive,if this does,nt help check the fuel pressure,it will confirm if it is pump or not.

That is an old car- maybe it needs to see a real mechanic for a service? these machines need that sometime-

The check engine light did come on. I took it in and 4 codes came up Map Sensor, EGR, speed senor A, Mass flow A sensor. My question is does anybody know which one would cause the car to sputter, almost feels like the car is starving for gas upon acceleration.

Replace the Mass Air Flow Sensor. This should fixed the problem.
