what causes white smoke and sweet smell from under the hood and also the battery light on in a 97 nissan maxima

my car has white smoke coming from under the hood and also a sweet smell. it just started after i changed the oil and went to the beach. my battery light is also on which is strange. can anybody tell me whta this could be caused from. another thing idk if this has anything to do with it but my air conditioner doesnt work but my heat does???

Also the car only starts smoking when i drive it longer distances. another thing is the temperature gage is fine. its not running hot at all
