95 240sx se 2.4L Lost of power, cuts out, rough idel, falls on its face when you give it gas. I have replaced the fuel filter, theres strong fuel presure from the fuel pump before and after the injector. Disconneted the exhaust before cats still dose it. Could this be the eng. coolant temperature sensor? or what do you think?.

alright first off, theres no WAY it's going to be the thermostat or the Engine coolant temerature sensor. okay? You would get mad overheating if the thermostat was broken. Just for sh!ts and giggles bled your system. To me, your problem sounds completely vacum. Obviously(please take no offense) you aren't experienced enough to test for a vacum leak yourself, so take it to a mechanic you trust and have him do a leak down test. There is a bracket on the back of the head towards the firewall with like 7-10 or more vacum hoses on it. There are two, i repeat, 2 sensors connecting to that from your wiring harness, make sure those are plugged in first. All of the hoses on that bracket system are really hard to get to, so take it to a mechanic. To me, again, this sounds like a really bad vacum leak. Hope this helps. don't listen to that other guy, he's an idiot. while your at it, check your grounds

Have you done a tune up on your car at any point? It might be time for one check your plugs, wires, cap, rotor and such it may be something as simple as that, a vacuum leak could also be the culprit but the first thing that i would personally check would be the plugs

air flow meter ( air mass sensor) is my guess or vacuum leak... coolent temp would not do this, injectors could be dirty also....replace your afm with one of youe mate... or just put a rb25det engine in it:)

240's are bad about head gaskets going bad. Are you loosing coolant? Is your exhaust white smoke? Does your oil look like milk?

exactly. check your maf to see if its even reading properly. also does the car smoke black when it stumbles at all? if so it could be running rich and stumbling because it's adding too much fuel. my 240 gets this ocassionally... are all your injectors working properly? injectors seem to go all the time on the KA.

my number 2 injector comes loose all the time and it does that... Not saying thats what it is just giving advice for things to check up on... Cause it is a common problem for 240's

Handfull of problems that could cause this problem. Vacuum is the most likely. A cheap way to start looking for a problem without having it checked out is to get a can of non-chlorinated brake cleaner, and while the engine is running spray it along the vacuum lines. If it gets sucked into a hole it tends to rev the motor up. It only works on bad leaks though and it is no substitute for having the lines tested. Additionally it could be an ignition problem, cracked coil ect.. Honestly I'd take it to a mechanic you trust to troubleshoot it for you.

oh man, just check if any of your vacuum lines are loose or cracked. and if they are, buy an SR20 and have someone do the swap for you. that way your idle problems are fixed, AND you have a couple more ponies under the hood. who doesnt want that? OR just take it to a mechanic and have it checked out. just sayin..

cuts off past 3000 rpm - mass air flow sensor! check your wires and connectors to it aswell.

First thing I would do is check you ECU for codes which you can check the FAQ on 240sx.org which shouldnt be to bad for the 95. OBD1 usually just has a light you count flashes on the back of the ECU, and OBD2 you count a light in your gauge cluster. If its the coolant temp sensor you cars gas milage will go down, and itll have a rough idle... shouldnt affect power to badly. I would think its a vacuum leak, or bad MAFS. If your cars a manual, and it hits a rev limiter at 2500RPMS then ID bet its your MAFS or wiring for sure.

My '95 240sx is in the shop right now for the same thing. After a day and half the check engine light came on. Two codes were thrown, one for the maf sensor and the other for knock sensor. Second time my car has thrown 2 codes where the knock sensor was one of them. Based on what I know I don't think knock sensor would have anything to do with it. Mechanic has checked both sensors and both are good. The wiring for knock sensor was ok. So far he found low voltage at the connector that plugs into maf but it was fine at the computer. He says it could be somewhere in the harness or still possibly be the computer. He said he would run a test wire some how and see if the voltage it good if so then its somewhere in the harness. So should the whole harness from computer to maf be replaced and if so where is the best place to get one?

I have a1995 Nissan 200sx and I just replaced fuel filter spark plugs and its driving like shit loosing power and idle is off what's wrong with it all the whoses for spark plugs are new mass air flowsensr replaced
