Factory original or modifications done.
Ok I am kinda confused as to
what my dad had in 1974.
My dad had for one year a 1969
Impala SS green with a black top a
454 cid and a Automatic trans on
the floor,it also had a factory
sunroof (no glass) and air
conditioning, a vented hood that
reminded me of the ones that
came with the SS Cameros but
longer,it had all the SS 454 bages
on the fenders and dash or center
console (don't remember) which
one.
It also had rear speakers and a
blower fan (heater) in the center
of the package tray in between
the speakers (never seen that on
any other GM car) it had what
looked like a factory power
sunroof and folding head lights.
It even had big rims with SS
center caps and chrome wheel
rings.
My dad always used to tell
everyone it came from the factory
that way.
Delorm Chevrolet in Inglewood ca
sold it new.
The original owner got it there
new and traded it in,in 73.
I think sunroofs did not come out
on GM cars till the early 80s
right?.
Can't remember what he engine
looked like.
So was this a special order car?.
My cousins husband was the
general manager of Delorm in the
late 70s.
Ken Magowen.
He sold my cousin (before they
got married) a 1977 Nova custom
that he ordered a new corvette
engine with and swapped it in to
the Nova and sold it to her that
way with all the correct paper
work.
He died several years later but
she kept the Nova for 20 years.
I saw all the paperwork.
So I am thinking, did he do the
same thing with my dads car?.
Or did the original owner do some
modifications to it.
My dad always said it was a
special order car.
I remember him saying he sold it
for more than he got it for.
