Look on the outside of the carburetor for a couple adjustment screws. One is for warm idle speed and the other is cold (choke) idle speed. Make sure the choke linkage is releasing once the engine is warm. Then set the idle speed to 600 rpms. Then move the choke linkage up a little and set that idle speed to about 2000 rpms. Here's what's happening. Your choke is not releasing on the warm engine and you are getting the choke's cold idle speed of 2000 rpms. So start your repair by lubricating and making sure the choke is releasing. Electric chokes sometimes break.
