2020 Honda Accord 1.5T LX

Asked by Hershel10 Dec 13, 2020 at 10:28 PM about the 2020 Honda Accord 1.5T LX FWD

Question type: General

Hi All,
I just bought a new 2020 Honda Accord, and I
noticed that between roughly 15mph and 10mph,
there is a subtle humming/whistling sound when
the car is decelerating or cruising. The sound is
only heard between those speeds, and it happens
everytime. If I accelerate beyond 15 mph, or I brake
below 10 mph, it immediately stops. The sound
isn't too loud, and can only be heard if the radio is
off or very low. Should I take it to the dealer?
Thank you all for the help!

I would ask the Dealer about it. Intake manifold vacuum is strongest at idle or deceleration. So you might be hearing a minor vacuum leak. When they tell you it's normal say great, I want to drive another one, exactly like mine. If you hear the same thing, then it's normal. But at least you'll know. Hope that helps! Jim
