Why the ear deafening hum

Asked by Rankinville Jun 05, 2021 at 01:12 AM about the 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello I also purchased the 2020 accord hybrid abs
got this ear deafening hum when driving close to 50
mph. Honda knew nothing. Found out the
engineers of honda do know though and they only
report to the head tech at each honda dealer. Mine
was fixed by putting a new 2021 ANC TO
REPLACE the 2020 ANC part. If you have questions
call Ryan the manager if service at Rairdons’ honda
in sumner, wa. They can help your dealer figure this
out as it took many hours of my pushing for them to
find there really was a problem. My started
periodically and then became constant.

It's a fluke in the Active Noise Cancellation. Some hybrids get it at that speed. If you crack a window open, it might go away. Otherwise, find a way to disconnect it. https://www.driveaccord.net/threads/is-this-noise-normal-droning-noise-active-noise-cancellation-humming-from-speakers.539653/page-3#post-6807508

I just heard that Honda has a Technical Service Bulletin on this issue. I haven't seen it yet, but its number is 21-053.
