I have a 1991 nissan 300zx TT and im wanting to do a engine swap but i dont know much about engines so my question is what is the biggest/best engine i can put in for around $3,000?

Your motor must be blown up. That's the only reason I could see swapping out a 3.0L Twin Turbo.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnBmgivZ8uQ -- this what you got? If so I think you will be disappointed with any other engine you might put in your car. Lots of power in what you already have. You will be hard pressed to even get close to that with something else. IMO anyways. Rebuild yours and upgrade it some if you need more power.

Rb26dett is a good swap but its more than the budget you have posted but parts are more available and cheaper the vg30dett is slowly dieing off to to how expensive they are to build
