Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have  2002 Bravada. Within the last 2 months the oil pressure gauge has been fluctuating when idiling along with a low oil pressure warning, and a stop engine light, but only when idiling.

Worn out engine, or worn out oil pump? The vehicle has 181000+ miles on it.

On the i6 engine, look at the oil pressure sensor right next to the oil filter. If it has oil on it, it's giving false readings, change it, problem fixed. Actually fairly common.

Thank you I will do that. Since it has cooled down outside, I've not been running my A/C, and I have noticed that the oil pressure gauge has not been fluctuating anymore when idling with the A/C off.
