95 auto tranny in to 96 explorer

I have a 96 Ford Explorer with a bad
transmission I'm wanting to put a 95
transmission into it are they compatible they
are both 4.0 transmissions and engines

Nope, the '96 has an OBDII computer to control it, and the '95 has an OBD1 computer controlling it.

Is it possible that I can switch the harness plugs that bolt to the parts on the transmission for the wiring harness

Well thank you for your help I made a deal with the junkyard and they said if it doesn't work I can bring it back and get a refund I'm just going to try and give her a shot
