Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Alright so this car has 370,XXX miles and she is kinda on her last leg.. well
maybe not she still runs really strong. Anyhow i had my third fire in the car not
long ago and i decided to tear my dash apart and get rid of all burnt wires and
non important wires. When i went to get my glovebox out the trunk lock button
broke and i cant get it to unlock now. Could i just unplug the wires from the
switch and cross the wires to get my trunk unlocked? That would be cool
cause thats where my dash is going to go.. Any help is appreciated.

Yes, unplug the two wires from the trunk release switch button in the glove box and touch them together with the ignition on and the trunk will pop open. This is assuming that the rest of the circuit is not damaged. I have to wonder by your description of this vehicle if it is safe to be on the road! Vehicle fires can be deadly and engulf the whole vehicle in a matter of seconds! Not to mention the possibility of instant death from an explosion! I think this vehicle has earned its place in the junkyard! Please be safe!! Jim
