Starter issues problems, repair

This is totally old school, but...if you want to know if the starter is bad, try this: Have someone turn the key to the ON position and hold it there like they are starting the car, as they hold the key, you rap on the starter with a hammer. If the car suddenly turns over, then yes, your starter needs replacing.
