High RPM issue

Asked by Gordon Apr 22, 2014 at 11:56 PM about the 1997 Oldsmobile Bravada 4 Dr STD AWD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

For a 1997 Oldsmobile Bravada (near 150k miles): I was driving today as normal, but as I was driving home the same night, my RPM started to spike as I tried accelerating (normally go 60-65 a little over 2k RPM, but was going at 3k at 60 mph). At one point, it revved up to 3k RPM when I was going 15-20 in town.

Could anyone tell me what might be wrong?

Auto trans? Check trans fluid. If you lucky might just need the trans fluid and filter changed.
