olds mobile achieva 95 3.1 v6 automatic trany start only when I go underneath and move the flywheel/driveplate any ideas folks

Put in new starter cause it didn't start well when it got home it didn't start
again. I then thought of going underneath and move the wheel on the tranny
with a screwdriver and wa la it starts when i do that but thats the only way it
starts.Starter cranks but engine doesn't. Any commencsense resolve would
be appreciated.

The starter is flush with the flexplate I noticed about 5-10 gears missing on the flywheel. Could that be the problem cause what your sejusting can't be don't on a 95 olds as the starter is in the way to use a gauge wire. Kelly.
