1996 Ford Probe won't start

Asked by Timepoet Apr 07, 2016 at 09:39 AM about the 1996 Ford Probe SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I accidentally back into a tree this morning
and now my 1996 Ford Probe won't start.
Not sure what to do. Does the fuel shut off
after a rear end collision
If so, how do I fix it?

In some models there is an "inertia switch" which is designed to shut the fuel and spark off in the event of an accident to lessen the risk of fire. on your car it may be located in the trunk under the carpet somewhere, usually around the left quarter panel.

The reset button is on the left side of ur trunk, it's down by the back window washer fluid reservoir, all you have to do is push the button down, it's supposed to be down in order to run

My sons car has been sitting for a while. I have been starting it regally, but not the fuel sensor light comes on and won't start. I have put more petrol in it. Can anyone help please? 1996 Ford Probe
