Taillight issue

So I had a 2.3 motor in my Ford Ranger was a 96 and the
truck blew up so I swap the motor with a 4.0 out of a 96
Ford Explorer and ever since I did the swap I don't have any
tail lights I have power back there and my brake lights work
but I have no tail lights and no blinkers and I was
wondering if there is a wire I could cross over to fix that if
there is  or do I have to change the harness

Before you get into tracing the wire first check the fuses and relays then make sure that the multifunction switch is working correctly, you're looking for continuity on those circuits. Its easy with a mutimeter (i prefer ones with audible continuity) but youll want a wiring diagram showing the wire colors so youll know which wires to backprobe (or you could physically remove your taillights to do the same). From there youll need to trace those wires until you find the break, either repair or splice a new wire in. The Ranger Station forum is a great resource
