My 04 ford e350 AC isn't blowing cold air like it should...its cools down only on long hauls not in the city. Freon is in and the AC is "charged" whatever that means..

#1 - No debris in the duct work. #2 - The A/C system is designed to have a certain pressure with use of the R134(A). The "Freon/oil" mix lubricates the parts internally while operating. #3 - The Freon gas is heated in the compressor (due to normal compression action), then sent to the condenser to cool where it is sent to the plenum (inside the vehicle) and then back to the compressor to be re-compressed and repeat the system. #4 - I would check to see if the "air temperature control vacuum dash manifold" is broken and not allowing the correct operation with the dash air ducts. It is located just behind the dash knobs (they attach to it) which control "hot to cold, dash/floor/foot air direction, fan speed" settings. It is a common Ford issue for these to break after just a few years, as mine broke after just 3 years.

If cools good at highway speeds but not in stop and go traffic I would check the electric radiator fan. It should be running when ac is on and vehicle is idling. If its not running trouble shoot why. It must run when idling or in slow traffic or ac compressor will kick off due to too high of temp.

Typical AC System inspection: Debris in the Condenser/Radiator not allowing enough air flow - Fan Clutch failing to engage - Serpentine belt stretched/slipping, AC Compressor Clutch slipping, AC system low on Freon. One scenario is that the fan clutch has failed causing an over-pressure in the AC system and popping-off the over pressure valve causing a low Freon charge or, the High Pressure switch is doing it's job and shutting down the system because of high pressures. Either way, I'd look at the Condenser, Radiator, and Fan Clutch first.

DON'T USE 4 SEASON COMPRESSORS. HAD 3 UNDER WARRANTY AND ALL NEVER WORKED AS GOOD AS A USED MOTORCRAFT PUMP. NEVER COULD GET LOW SIDE UNDER 70 PSI AT IDLE. INSTALLED THE USED MOTORCRAFT AND IT WAS AT 35 PSI AT IDLE. 4 SEASONS JUST DOES NOT MAKE A GOOD PUMP.

Please i need some help on ford e 350club wagon dual air condition i replaces both units and still no cold air is one of those club van with radiator condenser in Back of the driver side Please any help will be apreciated thank you

Check condenser fan,make sure condenser coil is clean.Is blower motor working.If system has had leak,was all refrigerant been pulled out ,proper vacuum been pulled and refrigerant weighed in.Factory charge.It does sound like you have an airflow issue with condenser coil,clogged or fan not coming on.Could be bad fan motor or fan cycle relay which works off pressure.

I have a 1991 ford e350 clubwagon extended. Has 7.5 liter engine with front and rear ac. I recently charged the system cause rear was not throwing cold air front was but rear was not. So I recharged system changed the rear expansion valve and still no cold air. The rear condensor is cold but just blowing hot air front stays cool but rear gets warm when I drive high speed. I reacharged system at 70 psi is that correct please help

Common on E-450 in stop and go traffic -just not enough air flow across condenser. If in park just increase RPMS a bit or consider a high idle switch. Robert
