Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Fuel pump does not turn off after 1 to 2 seconds
after turn ignition switch halfway when this happens
engine will not start. If fuel pump shuts off after one
and a half seconds engine will start run smooth runs
for a while then starts hesitating and will not run
almost like choke is closed. There is no choke on
this engine but that's what it seems like is
happening

test your fuel pressure to see if it is within specs for your vehicle. if not you likely need a new fuel pump.

I have already replaced the fuel pump I've checked the fuel pump relay it is OK I replaced the fuel regulator after checking pressure which I thought was kind of high (60 pounds) after replacing the fuel regulator it seemed to help but within 1 to 2 trips later it's doing the same thing
