I'd stay with the 2jz-ge, its what the 3.0, it's faster than any of the altezza motors they produced. the 2jz-ge is the base of the supra motor so that block can handle alot. and since the altezza only really shares frame and body i'd say no on the motor parts.
The Is engine is less restrictive than the Altezza.

These guys must not know japenese race series supras use the altezza motor, the BEAMS 3SGTE is probably the best I4 out there, and if you want look up the 3sge, which is the altezza motor, yes 2jz is great, but u can make similar hp numbers with less weight further back in the engine bay, which is why the PRO japrnese race Supras use the 3s/Celica/MR2/altezza engine, when I say its the best 4 cylinder engine, it been proved in race series and in rally. Toyota Team Europe Celica st205, 3s, Carlo Sainz used 3s, its why the Celica is called "The King of Africa" , its didnt lose even with a 43mm turbo restrictor plate, 43 mm thats big, and it made a limited 300hp but 650lb of torc, so when i say it can make supra numbers with less weight and better axel balance it does and will, and Il teying to get my own altezza from canada. GL. Dont believe me look it up. Peace.
