Bumper replacement

Asked by Irresponsibleteen17 Oct 02, 2019 at 05:56 PM about the 2006 Pontiac G6 Base V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 06 G6 that has recently gotten in to wreck. The front bumper was
destroyed and some plastic pieces behind it. I do not know what these plastic
pieces are called or how to get replacements. Does anyone know what these
pieces are called? They are located right behind the bumper on the
undercarriage and were heavily deformed during the crash.

I think you are referring to the "egg crate" style impact absorbing pieces installed in most cars. They take minimize the impact force from a collision. I don't know the official name for them but any body shop or dealer's parts department could tell you. Also try an internet search for "bumper assembly, front, 2006 pontiac G6" and see if a schematic with descriptions and part numbers shows up.
