Pontiac G6 GT 2006

Asked by Steph1342 Sep 19, 2018 at 11:25 AM about the 2006 Pontiac G6 GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Pontiac started blowing warm air from
the A.C. and my temp gauge stays around
200 and no higher.  The coolant is good
and but it doesn't seem to be going down
any. When I turn off the car after driving it
for a out 20 to 30 mins it smells like it's
hot but nothing to indicate that other than
the smell. Any help would be appreciated

Your AC has nothing to do with your radiator/coolant/heater function. It sounds like you may be low on the refrigerant charge though if the hot air coming from the AC vents is hot and the AC is turned on. On the other hand, if the AC is off and your system blows hot air, shut off the blower and put the heater in the off position. Then watch the temp gauge and see what it does. You may have a problem with your thermostat, cooling fan(s), radiator, or water pump if the temp spikes higher than it usually does (above 235 degrees).
