Weird brake issue 2005 Pontiac G6

Asked by Stringz Nov 26, 2019 at 07:46 PM about the 2005 Pontiac G6 Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I got this issue when braking I hear this weird
groaning sound coming from right under the brake
pedal itself. It happens 100% of the time until I hit a
speed of about 60 -80 km/hr and abs light comes
on, along with the traction control light and also
the car wrench light. When those three lights are
on I hear no noise at all, and the brakes behave
completely normally every stop. If Im driving city
speeds I have to deal with this annoying rattling
(honestly it sounds like an air pump struggling to
retain air pressure as air rattles out from a hole
somewhere)every time I brake for the duration of
my whole trip. I can't see how I need new brake
pads because I have no problems when the lights
come on, maybe I need to flush them? Any ideas
are welcome. Maybe I should mention I'm having a
issues as well where Im getting little to no air at all,
and no hot air unless I am driving fast speeds.
Could this be a related issue considering brakes
also rely on the air intake system?
