Popping in front driver side when turning right

Asked by Bighubb81 Jun 07, 2023 at 09:24 AM about the 2005 Pontiac G6 Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Daughter drove her  2005 Pontiac G6 over an embankment into a dich
driver side first.  No cosmetic damage to the car at all and I was able to drive
it home.  However now there is a clunking/popping noise only when turning
right.  Does anyone have a quess as to what that could be?  I am leaning
toward the CV joint as after inspection i found no ball joint or tie rod breaks
and the wheel is tight when checked for vertical and horizontal movement

Maybe have a professional look at it , Running into a ditch is going to mess something up .

Sounds like the CV joint to me. Especially if it's a rhythmic sound when you're turning that follows vehicle speed. If that's what it is, have them replace the whole axle assembly. It's cheaper that way. Hope that helps! Jim
