wont restart after shutting it off, what could cause this?

After driving it for 15-20 mins and shutting it off it will not restart and you have to let it sit for 10 min to a half hour (sometimes longer) and then it will run fine again. Iv taken it to 2 shops and all they would do is plug in a car doctor thing and nothing pops up so they say nothing is wrong. Any idea on what could be wrong?
