I would like to know from someone who had a trans am for awhile. What kind of gas mileage do '00 to '02 trans ams get. I know it says to have 17 city and like 25 highway, but what do they really get on average (a good combination of highway and city but mostly city)?

Depending on how you drive (which is the largest unknown in the equation) you should see about 20 mpg on average. Assuming you can keep your foot out of it.
My 98 gets 24 hwy with a very large cam, and 4.10s in the rear, 6 speed. I've heard of 30 mpg with stock gears (6 speed) and a good tune.
My 98 ram air gets 18 to 20 when I drive it and play around have seen 21+ when babying it. Thats with stock wheels. Got some 18" zo6 wheels dosnt change. Got six speed and stock gears!
My buddy has an 02 trans am, we took it to dallas and back and it averaged right at 26mpg on the highway (75mph speed limit). Your in city mpg will solely depend on how heavy your foot is.. LOL
That is great to get 17 to 21 . My 78 gets 13.7 average. It always did even in 1978. Of course, there is an engine difference. Jay in Arlanta
