Take the car to an alignment shop and have the suspension inspected for loose or worn parts. Also Lucas "magic fix a transmission in a bottle" is only a band aide for transmission issues.
One possible cause for a "thump" from a tranny - that feels like someone kicked your car, is a sticking or worn torque converter lock up clutch, it's not releasing when it should, then when it does, thump. (conversely, it's not locking up when it should, and when it does, thump.) A more common symptom of a TCC problem is bogging when slowing down or stopping, to the point the car feels like it's going to stall. But a definitive "thump" can also signal a TCC problem.
the car doesn't try to stall, it runs great, but i am guessing i will need to take it to a shop and hope they can duplicate the problem as it doesn't happen all the time
took car to garage. had to replace the mass air sensor. $452 later, it runs like a new one. thanks for all the suggestions and help
