SSEI 224k. Used. What oil?

Asked by ScottMcNamara Jan 14, 2020 at 10:16 PM about the 2000 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I Just purchased a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville
SSEI. It has 224,000 miles and is a rather
older car with plenty of wear and tear. Not
knowing what kind of oil is in the vehicle and it
shows signs of leaking over years. Normal
hunk buildup around the motor. But not major
leaks. Not knowing whether they use Dino or
synthetic oil. Do I use synthetic to be on the
safe side. Better oil better protection with
supercharger or use Dino so it doesn’t leak?
