Check cigarette lighter fuse trust me it has something to do with the OBD. Just bought a code reader and would not work on a vehicle I was working on thought I had gotten hold of a bad code reader called tech support and they told me to check the cigarette lighter fuse and that was the problem. Replaced fuse code reader started working.
where would i find cigarette lighter fuse?

Do you have a owners manual it is in there telling you where the fuse box is located. Do not no exactly where on your vehicle because they put them in different places on vehicles.
yes..gm known for that.. but other than that the code reader/sockets...
i dont have a owners manul is the cigarette lighter fuse located in fuse panel inside the car or under the hood

You would have to check both not sure which one it would be in.
I cannot get power to my cigarette lighter I have done all it said you but it has not give me five to the cigarette lighter so tell me what else can I do I'll give me a call at 850-597-6729 I need my cigarette lighters work because I live in Madison Florida I'm getting ready to go back home and I think I need to use my phone for my GPS I need for you to stay charged while traveling on the highway but I checked all the fuses I took care of fuse out of the fuse box and none was globe so now I just do not know what else to do thank you
I'm still having trouble can you help me please
If the fuse is ok, it's time to replace the lighter. Somewhere along the line the wires have broken to it and are shorting out.
