Have a 1999 Firebird that is running hot. I just changed out the Radiator and Thermostat and refilled with dex cool restarted the car and ran at idle for 10-15 minutes when fans kicked on the gauge began to rise and eventually to the red line . Is this a water pump or sensor issue? any suggestions?

No freon in car at all I never use the AC, the fans come on when the gauge on dash hits half way

maybe it's your temp sensor I believe there's 2 of them I heard that there's one on the water pump and one somewhere else on the engine one of those could be bad and then additionally have you replaced your radiator cap the pressure might be off on the cab and then of course did you flush the whole system before putting in the new radiator or after the new radiator?
