Engine codes P0335 P0336

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
On my Trans am I have Eng codes P0335 P0336
Crank Position sensor out of range
I was told this sensor is only used to send
diagnostics to ECM.
That the cam sensor is located in dist.
So if I change dist will this solve my problem?
Car still runs and drives but little sluggish and ever
so often a little back fire when reving it to 3,000
rpms in park
Thank you

Ok well I replaced crank sensor and still codes so from what your saying is if I replace can sensor that is located in distributor ? That's where I was told it was on a 97..Then it should solve my problems? It's such a pain doing the dist since it's behind water pump
Ok so I was miss informed that the crank sensor is only for letting ECM know there is a problem.. I unplugged my crank sensor and car still started up and drove as before.. So is cam sensor actually located in dist..? I will do like you said and ohm wires and check ground on harness..Thanks by any chance do you know what wire is what on the harness for crankPS ?
Thanks for the info I'll check it out
