1997 Sunfire hesitant to accelerate while driving

Asked by Misfits0138 Jul 10, 2011 at 10:24 PM about the 1997 Pontiac Sunfire 2 Dr SE Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1997 Pontiac sunfire 2.2 SE that while going down the road driving it may hesitate to
accelerate then its like it will catch up with itself and really go or it may decide to stall out when
coming to a stop. Ive had a complete tune-up, new catalyic converter, starter, both o2 sensors
replaced, new fuel pump all put on in the last 2 months. Can anyone give me any insight on this
please.

I have a '99 2.2L SE, and I had the same problem. I had a cylinder 2 misfire problem, and I just got it tuned up yesterday. I went to Advance Auto Parts and told me to replace my throttle sensor, and get my spark plugs and wires changed (I know you said you got a tune up, but yeah). So head to Advance Auto and have them scan it. Then go from there. Hope this helps.
