have 1994 firdbird,problem with the pasenger side head light going up and down

turning on lights they both come up and work fine but when I shut them off the passenger side light goes down and comes back up,both lights shut off fine when I turn them off,passenger side just comes back up with the light off. Is it the motor causeing this?

Hi it might be that your headlight motor on the passenger side might be going bad then there's two other possibilities the mechanism that makes the light go up itself could be in question in conjunction with the motor and then also there's a headlight module that could be going out that triggers the lights to go up and down different possibilities here good luck.

This is a typical failure mode for the gears in the light's motor assembly. You will need to replace the motor or refurbish the gears with a reapir kit. Both are available through many on line or auto parts stores. Motor replacement is relatively easy - the kit takes a little more patience and care.
