What could be the reason my 94 sunbird is loud, and sounds something like a motor bike. It misses sometimes when gaining speed but drives overall 6-10.

No but yes when i accelerate it hick-ups sometimes and then rides smooth, it like a bruuuuummmm sound until i hit the gas and it fades aways , and the car shack pretty good, sometimes its bad, but once its moving it up and running , just loud and a little sluggish when taking off
Probably a tune up is in order. Check your ignition, dist cap, plugs, wires, timing, etc. if they have not been serviced in a while. A misfiring engine - especially a 4 cylinder, will have a hard time getting going if a cylinder or 2 are not carrying their load. Then, when gaining spedd things will sound better but is just the result of the other cylinders being more able to carry the load at a higher engine speed.
I have an 1994 sunbird SE 2dr ...it shuts off while driving .....what could be the issue???
me too i have a1992 sunbird and it sounds like brrrrrrrrrr, a truck. mechs say it has the wrong catylitic conv. $400! no thanx
