My escort is overheating randomly. Fan works, getting heat, plugs dry and nothing from the exhaust.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Needle stays about a 1/4 of the way up and
never moves. Then after driving say a half
hour it will go up to the red. Then you could
drive it a week with no problem at all. It has
been flushed, new water pump and
thermostat. Has no leaks, but I have to add
water after it gets hot. It has been a couple
weeks since I did the work. Could it be a air
pocket still? I forgot, new radiator cap, 13
lbs.

Did you replace the thermostat your self ? If so give me a run down of what you did after you installed the t stat. This will help me understand if weather or not
