No acceleration, sputtering, is it the fuel pump

There are many causes for your engine to sputter. It may just need a tune up, and the engine checked over. I don't think it is the fuel pump as it seems to start, but it is a good Idea to have the fuel filter changed out, which they would do during a tune up.

As far as driving it, I wouldn't be going any long distances with it. Also, no acceleration could be plugged up catalytic converters. You should just take it into a local shop to be looked at.

Thanks soooo much. But I have no choice but to drive it about 18miles to work for at least another week that's round trip miles. Just hope and pray it will be OK. Once again THANK YOU

Hi, i have a 95 escort. I've changed fuel filter, sparkplug, wires, fresh gas, have cleaned out the idle control valve. but now the car still struggles to gain speed when stopped. it will gain speed when i hit about 35mph. do you have any idea what else to check. my tranny fluid is topped off. i just dont knw what else to look into.
