how do i sell my used car

Asked by Patrick Mar 13, 2022 at 03:56 PM about the 2003 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet RWD

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

I am selling my car, how can I tell if a used car salesman is trying to buy it only
to mark it up and sell it again for profit ? I had a person that I asked 3 times if
he was a used car salesman, he never answered yes or no, just kept trying to
get the price lower, very aggravating.

Then turn him away, it’s still your car and you don’t have to sell it to him, especially with the way used car prices are spiking, it’s a sellers market. Set your price and stick with it.

Always ask for more than you want to get. Then when the buyer talks you down they'll think they got a good deal and you'll get what you want for the vehicle. Once a vehicle is sold it's gone and you can't control what the new owner does with it. It's no longer yours so who cares if they drive it for ten years or crash it into a tree a week later. Not your problem or concern. That's what selling and moving on is all about! Good luck to you! Jim
