my 1995 ford escort lx 1.9l has a "NO START" Condition. New timing belt, spark to the plugs, and coil pack, I do not know what it could be, any suggestions or help would be great.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

my car was driving fine, then all of a sudden acted a little odd, like it was trying to get
hot but the gauge didn't even go halfway, i pulled the car over and turned it off and has
not started since, sounds like it jumped time, but hadn't, we even went ahead and
replaced the timing belt anyways, it is getting spark to the plugs and the coil pack...a
friend says its getting fuel, but he says may not be enough,he says he thinks its the
head, but i had one exact to this one that the head did get messed up and it isn't doing
the same things, I'm... just really lost, really stuck , and desperatly need my car

Check the Inertia (fuel cut-off) switch and test the actual fuel pressure. A compression test is the best way to tell if the Head Gasket is blown - no, they all don't act the same. I've seen several '93 - '95's drop a Valve seat onto the top of the piston and make a big mess out of the head and combustion chamber in that cylinder - not uncommon.
