Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Did not start car for 5 days and one of the main keys red diode light is on. The key no
longer locks the car or operates the trunk release. Have started the car using the key but
the red light is still on and is not operational other than to start the car.

I'm no electrical genius. First thing I'd try is to change the battery in the key fob.

I thought of that. Is that something done easily or must a technician do it? There's nothing in the manual about changing the battery.

very easy to do this. you open the fob and put a new button battery in, I think it is a CR2032 size. you only need a pry tool of some kind to pop it open.
