Question type: General

My sister just purchased a 2022 Audi Q3. Even though thw window sticker
says equipped with blind side monitors, it isn't. They say because of chip
shortage. She does not want the cat. What are her options? Purchased 2
weeks ago. Sales person never disclosed this. She and her husband have
an appointment with the sales manager Thursday.

Sounds like they misrepresented the vehicle! If this was a no charge option, personally, I wouldn't worry about it. But if you were charged for it and you wanted the option tell them you want another vehicle, or the blind side monitors installed as a dealer installed option (free of charge) ,or you're calling your attorney! Hope that helps! Jim

I can't believe Audi did this. How do you know the equipment is missing?

She has contacted a large Audi dealership in New York City area, and another one in New Hampshire. They each had that model in stock, and they said they were equipped with them. She called them back and asked them to verify that they were equipped, and they both said that they were in fact NOT equipped. It does not show up on the menu for settings. The dealer said that they would try and sell the car for the best price possible, give her back her old Rogue. I believe they should unwind the deal, and just give her old car back. Again, it was only two weeks old. She is headed out on a vacation cruise tomorrow, and has left the Audi on their lot, hoping they can work something out.

the problem is the vehicle was titled, so they just can't unwind the deal. She is lucky they didn't sell the trade in and it sounds like they are working with her. Hope for a decent outcome.

I did a little more research and the deal should have sold her the car with the information that the items were not on the vehicle. Audi is calling it the Semi conductor shortage package. Your sister should have been disclosed of the package shortage and have gotten a discount for the items that were not included, which deletes some options such as blindspot monitor with rear crosstraffic alert, rear collision detection system, adaptive cruise control, lanekeeping assist, wireless charging pad, and others. The Semiconductor Shortage is usually listed on the sticker and comes with a cash credit depending on the number of deleted features.
