check the battery terminals to see it they are clean and tight
the car stuff in the cab and the engine stuff are on different ground wires does it click like the starter is trying to engage
i was thinking that it could be the crank position sensor!!!?
starter might have a short in it take it to the place you bought it from and get them to bench test it and see
done it . even the with the old i was having the same problem. that's why i replace it in the first place . now im stuck....
go back over the wiring that you have replace make shure that all the grounds are clean and have a clear connection between it and the body otherwise you ignition switch has a short take it out and do a continuity test on it
