Ask for documentation. Just because they were made does not mean that one is genuine.
BODYSHOP PROBABLY CUT OFF TOP. I'VE BEEN MUSTANG DEALER SINCE 1971 TO MY KNOWLEDGE IT DOES NOT EXIST FROM FORD.
Yes they did in 1995 499 cobra convertibles came with a fiberglass removable top. All 499 were black with tan leather interior. I have one
The Buck Tag on factory Hardtop Cobra (and probably the others in that year) convertibles, like the Feature convertibles of the Foxbody era have FEATURE in their Buck Tags, have the word HARDTOP imprinted in them. The 1995 hardtop/softtop Cobra Convertible that I bought last June out of Glendale California does.
Oh yes, factory original 5.0 Cobra Coupes and Hardtops in 1994 AND 1995 carry the letter D in the VIN in the 8th place, just GTs carry the letter T. 1995 Cobra R's carry the letter C. NO D in the VIN, not a 5.0 Cobra, emblems or not.
