Is a high mileage old lexus worth it? and Reliable?

Asked by Mohammad Mar 18, 2020 at 06:05 PM about the 1996 Lexus ES 300 FWD

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Hello, I am looking at a 1996 Lexus ES300 for $1700. The car is good
condition as it was driven by an old lady. The car has 224k miles on it and I
am not sure if a car with that many miles is still worth anything and will I be
able to drive it for a little while. Will it be reliable for long everyday commutes
and for how long?

Can you afford to lose your money tomorrow? This is a gamble like all other high mile cars.

Ask yourself how many more miles you need to get out of it. This is not a good choice for long commutes!
