Transmission failure

After replacing the battery in my 2001 ES300 the
transmission stopped working. Is there some sort
of protocol I'm supposed to do after replacing the
battery to reset something

Once I started the car back up and started driving about 10 miles down the road it just came out of gear and would not go back in I shut the car off started it back up it went for a little bit came out of gear again would not go back in now it doesn't go in at all

Check the transmission fluid level. If it's okay, you may want to get it into a tranny shop and run it on their diagnostic stand.
