how do i turn the check engine light off

Mark...if I go to an autoparts store or on Amazon do I just put in "car code scanner"?

Marcy,,,Ha,Ha Ha,, His name is Tom not "Mark helpful" Buying a scanner is not much help unless you get the problem fixed because if you clear the alarm .. it will return in a very short period of time .... Tom gave good advice and that's to find an auto parts store (Pep Boys.. AutoZone etc.) They will plug their scanner into your car for free and tell you what needs to be fixed

Marcy, before you purchase the scanner read the description to make sure that your car model number shows up. The scanner will tell you what is wrong so that you can talk to a mechanic about your problem.
