What's the life expectancy of a 06 Saturn vue v6? It has 164,000. Trying to determine if we should replace the transmission. Have not had to do anything else to it.

With regular oil changes, the engine should last around another 100,000. How's the rest of the car?

is it automatic or manual trans . they last you just gotta perform regular maintence. as far as trans goes are there problems with it

It's an automatic. The rest of the car seems fine. I'm just worried that its about time to start putting money into it since we haven't yet. So I don't want to pay 3500 for trans then continuously spend more for next few yrs, ESP if it might be big stuff
I have a 2006 V8 Automatic with 175,000 miles, did rebuild transmission at 150,000 miles, otherwise has been a great car!,
I own a 2006 saturn vue 2.2. Right now my saturn has over 195,000 on it. I've been using full synthetic oil for yrs and change the transmission oil faithfully every 30,000 miles. It's never had a timing belt change and the transmission shifts perfect, course I have never beaten it to death either. I've heard the engine can last to 250,000. Whether it does or not I plan to get the engine and transmission rebuilt when it does fail. It's a great suv and it puts my 2019 kia sorrento to shame.
The 2006 saturn vue 2.2 is the most dependable suv, while the 2005, and 2007 are lemons.
