How do I work with CarPlay IPad streaming

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have paired IPhone & IPad to this new SUV. Dealer tells me I can not use
Google Maps on CarPLay (via my phone) and listen to a book on tape on my
IPad via Bluetooth as CarPlay overrules everything. Does someone knows a
solution?

I don't think you can use two apple devices when using CarPlay, I may be wrong and or the dealer. But I suggest trying this. Download the Google Maps app to your iPad. Then when you get into the vehicle, pair the iPad to the car, not the phone, Start google maps for navigation and then open the app to your audio book to start playing. I think this will work.

Thank you so much for your reply, but regretfully it did not work. I have the Google Map app on my iPad and plugged in to the car the same way I otherwise have the phone connected. However, the car system does not recognize it and open up CarPlay. It only does when I plug in the phone. I shut the phone off altogether. Same result. I even disconnected the phone as a device and only left the iPad as a device on the car system.
