03' Saturn Vue AWD V6- Dashboard warning light test inquiry.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When running a dashboard warning light test, which lights should stay on
when key is turned without engine start ? I did this and the lights that stayed
on were the service engine soon and oil light, while after a flash of all others
being lit had turned off with these two staying solid and on. When the ignition
is fully turned and car is started, no dashboard lights are on. The warning
lights as mentioned that do not disappear, is this normal and should I be
concerned ? Please see my previous question posted tonight. Thank you, as
I appreciate any advice.

Check your oil and have the car scanned for engine codes...

Ok and thank you for your reply. Can you tell me if whether or not, the two mention lights that stayed on should have turned off along with the others? ( The check engine soon & oil light )

Your replies do help and thank you. All dashboard lights turn off when vehicle is started, it is only during a dashboard light test that that stay on. That is when the ignition is turned, forming power, but engine is not cranked over to full start that they stay on. As mentioned, all other dashboard lights flash on during this test and then turn off, other than the check engine soon and oil lights.
